Walker Automotive Company was founded in 2005 by Owner Eric Walker. Eric has been in the automotive field for 25 Years. His interest in the automotive field was a family heritage for several generations. His grandfather Henry Walker was a very skilled mechanic training technicians in the 1950’s. His father Ed Walker has also been in the automotive field for several decades. His Uncle Dennis (Pete) Walker has been an automotive technician for over 50 Years. The heritage and integrity found in decades of public service was bestowed in Eric to strive to provide a family oriented, trustworthy automotive repair facility providing top-notch skilled technicians with a common goal and mission.
In 1994 Eric was enrolled in Russellville Vocational School where he trained for 2 years in automotive technology. In 1995 he graduated Todd Central high School and Won the Rotary Award in Auto Tech. In October of 1996 he enrolled in Universal Technical College in Houston, Texas where he studied automotive and diesel programs. He earned an Associated Degree in Auto and Diesel Technology. Eric graduated in the top 2% of his class and was given a chance to go up against the best UTI had to offer. This was to try to test his skills and win a spot in the BMW Custom Training Group program. BMW was looking for 15 students from all of the UTI training facilities across the country to train for 6 months in a graduate school for BMW specific training. The 15 that were chosen would be Master Certified BMW Specialist when completing the program and would be placed in BMW Dealerships across the United States. He was chosen to be one of the 15 students. In October of 1997 he enrolled in BMW Custom training group In Phoenix, Arizona and studied BMW Master Training over the next six months. In November of 1997 he became ASE Master Certified in all Automotive Fields. In April of 1998 he became BMW Master Certified and was given a position at BMW of Nashville where he worked for the next 4 years continuing his education through BMW dealership training programs.
In 2004 Eric decided to bring his expertise in customer service skills and top-notch training back to his hometown of Elkton, Ky. His love of small town relationships and family was the dream he always had and now was able to bring to life through Walker Automotive Company. Receiving skilled advise from close family and decades of family service in the automotive field he has been able to provide a different approach to auto repair in Elkton, Ky.
